A PHOTOGRAPH BEGINS BEFORE THE SHUTTER

Build a method.
Bring home the image.

A good nightscape starts with choices: what to carry, when to go, where to stand and how to collect enough useful light. Editing works best when those decisions have already created a strong starting file.

Learn the field approach documented by Marco Brugnoli, then follow Milky Way processing with Camera Raw, Photoshop and Astro Panel. Watch in your preferred language and keep the illustrated manuals beside you.

*83 pages of field guidance + 68 pages of Milky Way post-processing in each language. The two additional “Reading” files are alternative editions of the 83-page guide.

THE LEARNING PATH

Prepare. Shoot. Develop.

Three practical modules, available as a complete English path and a complete Italian path.

01IN THE BACKPACK

Equipment that earns its place.

Choose a coherent kit around the outing rather than a list of specifications. Balance stability, weight and the way you actually work after dark.

  • Camera bodies, lenses and a dependable tripod
  • Backpack organisation, batteries and accessories
  • Clothing and preparation for mountain outings
EN 18:29IT 20:21
02UNDER THE STARS

Turn a location into a photograph.

Connect preparation with the shooting phase. Use the manuals to explore weather, PhotoPills, positioning and a stable setup for the night sky.

  • Read the terrain, light and shooting window
  • Plan the Milky Way, Sun and Moon with PhotoPills
  • MiniTrack setup, alignment and test exposures
EN 11:37IT 12:58
03AT THE SCREEN

Give your captured signal room to shine.

Follow the post-processing video and compare the methods documented in the guide, from a single exposure to stacked, tracked and astro-modified capture.

  • RAW preparation, sky stacking and gradients
  • Noise reduction, Starless and selective colour
  • Foreground processing, masks and final checks
EN 16:14IT 17:18

Total video time: 46:20 in English or 50:37 in Italian. Follow one language or watch both; all six videos are included.

UNDERSTAND THE STARTING FILE

Four approaches.
A clearer reason to choose.

The post-processing manual compares real photographs from Castelluccio. See how capture and processing work together, instead of copying a universal preset.

01 / SINGLE EXPOSURE

Start with one frame.

Understand the limits of a short exposure and the balance between visible detail and noise.

02 / STACKING

Build a cleaner base.

Follow ten short exposures through registration, integration and careful sky refinement.

03 / TRACKED CAPTURE

Collect more light.

Explore three tracked exposures with a standard camera, while treating sky and ground separately.

04 / ASTRO MODE

Explore the next step.

See the workflow of an astro-modified camera and how the starting signal changes the result.

The examples use different capture settings and processing. They illustrate workflows, not a controlled comparison of camera performance.

A FIELD-FIRST PERSPECTIVE

Learn from real nights.
And real decisions.

Marco Brugnoli brings his photography and mountain experience into a practical, progressive method. The course connects preparation and shooting with illustrated post-processing examples, keeping the relationship between sky and landscape at the centre.

  • 6 downloadable PDF files, including Reading editions
  • Self-paced lessons inside Masteriyo

BEFORE YOU START

A few useful answers.

What exactly is included?

Three video modules in English and the same three topics in Italian: equipment, shooting and post-processing. You also receive six PDFs: the 83-page Night Landscape guide in both languages and both Standard and Reading editions, plus the 68-page post-processing guide in English and Italian.

Do I need a star tracker or an astro-modified camera?

No specialist camera is needed to start studying the method. The material explains a progression from a standard camera and short exposures to stacking, tracked capture and an astro-modified camera. A MiniTrack is used for the tracker examples; you need that equipment to reproduce those specific exercises.

Does the price include Photoshop or Astro Panel?

No. This purchase is for the course and the six PDF files. The post-processing demonstrations use Adobe Photoshop, Camera Raw and Astro Panel; the relevant software licences and equipment are not included.

How do I access the lessons and manuals?

After payment, your purchase instructions provide the Masteriyo course link and its password. Sign in to your account, open the course and enter the password. Video lessons and the matching downloadable manuals are organised into English and Italian sections.

Are the videos translated into all the website languages?

The website and this landing can be read in the site's supported languages. The recorded video lessons and downloadable manuals are supplied in English and Italian.
